Acupuncture

Acupuncture can reduce pain by stimulating the brain and spinal cord to produce natural
pain-relieving chemicals such as endorphins, melatonin (which promotes sleep) and serotonin

Acupunture

Acupuncture is the application of fine needles into the body at specific points, with patients often describing the needle sensation as a tingling or a dull ache (rather than the pain you may associate with injections). The needles then stimulate a physiological and hormonal response from your body known as ‘Qi’, or ‘vital energy’, which can aid recovery from pain, fatigue and stress.

Acupuncture is widely considered to be beneficial from a range of illnesses and symptoms, from clearly defined complaints such as migraines, to more general feelings of ill health and low energy.

Several of our physiotherapists have completed post graduate training courses in acupuncture. As a result, our acupuncture trained physios are registered with the British Medical Acupuncture Society (BMAS), or the Acupuncture Association of Physiotherapists (AACP).

If you would like further information on how acupuncture may be able to help you, do not hesitate to get in touch and discuss your issues with one of our qualified Acupuncture Physiotherapists.
