What Our Clients Say
Friendly, experienced and knowledgeable. Honestly, I think Sophie must know everything about all muscles and what to do with them. Couldn’t be more pleased with the service and treatment at the Ackworth clinic.
Fantastic service, very thorough when getting to know the cause of the issue I had and what day-to-day activities make it worse, followed by a treatment plan as well as rehab I can do at home. The issue is getting better week by week — could not recommend enough.
Chris was amazing. I always enjoy seeing new practitioners to get a better insight into my chronic pain. Chris taught me some great new things that no one had explained to me before, particularly about hypermobility. 10/10 recommend.
Struggling with knee pain after an old injury. It’s impacting my ability to play golf, which is my living. Just had a great session at Regen Physio Ackworth — full history, clear diagnosis and a plan to get back to full activity.
I had an outstanding physio session with James Patrickson today. His professional approach and expertise left me feeling relaxed and pain-free. I’ve already rebooked and highly recommend his services.
Cannot recommend Sophie enough. I came to her with crippling back pain and have seen huge progress with her help.
I was quite apprehensive about going for a sports massage, but Charlotte immediately made me feel at ease and worked wonders. I would recommend Regen Physio Ackworth to anyone.
After my knee replacement, physio at Regen Ackworth made a huge difference.

"I was quite apprehensive to go for a sports massage as I was going due to a back problem and bad posture and didn’t know if this treatment would help. Charlotte immediately made me feel at ease and worked wonders in easing lots of tension and getting rid of knots in my back and shoulders. I have now been 3 times and each session is tailored around my needs on that day. I would recommend Regen Physio/Charlotte to anyone and can’t wait for my next session."

Chris Heslam
Physiotherapist
BSc (Hons), MCSP
Normanton, Ackworth, Pudsey, Hull
I'm Chris, from Sheffield, and I mainly work across our Wakefield clinics!
My background has been in rugby predominantly and I've played to a high level including stints for Leicester Tigers and Notts, Lincs & Derbyshire on a county level.
Since stopping rugby I've become all things strength training obsessed, dabbling in the likes of strongman and powerlifting with the aim of earning the 'Worlds Strongest Dad' title while trying to keep up some hiking, wild swimming and trail running. My rehabilitation experience spans across complex poly-trauma through to treating high level athletes and to those wanting to work on their health, strength and ability to live a fulfilling life that fills their cup!
When I'm not working or training you'll find me half way up a mountain or on a lake with my wife and son!
What clients say
- “Life-changing progress”
- Uses explanations and metaphors that finally make things clear
- Outstanding with serious / long-term injuries (knees, plantar fasciitis, fractures)
- Kind, patient, and genuinely invested in improvement
Reputation: complex rehab leader; one of the highest-impact clinicians in the whole network.
"Chris was amazing. I always enjoy seeing new practitioners to get a better insight into my chronic pain. Chris taught me some great new things that no one had explained to me before, particularly about hypermobility. 10/10 recommend."

Sophie Crowley
Physiotherapist
BSc (Hons), MCSP
Ackworth, Castleford, Normanton, Rotherham
Hi I’m Sophie - I’m a physio working in our Castleford, Ackworth & Rotherham clinics.
I grew up in Somerset and, started my training in Cardiff before moving to finish in Sheffield (slowly making my way further North)…
In my spare time I love trail running, and use every opportunity I can to work on races to learn from the best (and use it as a cheeky excuse for a holiday)! I’ve crewed runners through UTMB, Ultra X, and am currently looking to plan my own races at UTS and Slovenia 110km next year.
I love getting outside, so I really appreciate how much an injury can set you back from doing the things you love & really start to effect your mental health. I work with everyone of all ages and lifestyles, just hoping to get you the life you want to live (even if that’s better than it was pre-injury). If you have any questions, or aren’t sure if physio is for you - please reach out & we’ll see how we can point you in the right direction.
What clients say
- Amazing with older adults and mobility issues
- Kind, professional, warm
- Helps people stand, walk and regain confidence
- Families regularly leave emotional, grateful reviews
Reputation: compassionate rehab specialist; phenomenal with complex personal cases.
"Friendly, experienced and knowledgeable. Honestly, I think Sophie must know everything about all muscles and what to do with them!! Couldn't be more pleased with the service and treatment 😊"
